My work combines different pictures/images and paints, which I combine on the computer and canvas to create a new image.
With this abstract painting, the process is precisely the same as that of my portraits. I blend all kinds of pictures until I have digital artwork. After this process, I printed the design and started making a lot of structures on top of the printed image with gel mediums. When I finish the structures, I paint intensely with oil paint until I am satisfied. The actual fixed media works are all one-of-a-kind originals. The size of this painting is 140x140cm. Mounted on an aluminium frame, created with photography, printed on paper, glued to the canvas and finished with gel medium for the structure, acryl, oil paint, and oil sticks and applied with brushes, pallet knives and my fingers.
I try to make the digital artworks tangible again.
My work is not so much about the explanation and concept. It is a game and all about the image. I start with no idea in general, but a new image slowly evolves by looking at images that interest me and mixing them.
Print, grain gel medium, heavy gel medium, acrylics, oil, satin coating
