Painted on-site at the Bailey Shrub Walk at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Painted in oil over casein paint. Features blooming spring azalea bushes in a collection of colors including bright orange, hot pink, purple, yellow, and coral. In the background a smokebush is also beginning to bloom, with leaves of deep burgundy and orange. The thick, textured paint of the blossoms contrasts with the smooth, matte casein paint in the sky. A delicate and sparkling scene heralding spring. Framed in a 3.5" wide wood frame with a brown finish and gold inner edge. May be purchased unframed by request.
