The painting titled "Away from People" is part of the series "Solomon's Paradox", created within the second phase of the project "The Escape".
A recurring element in the artworks of "The Escape" is the white circle at the center of the canvas, symbolizing the limitation of the character’s worldview, a bubble enclosing them. Inside the circle is the silhouette of a person with blurred edges. This blurring creates a sense of dynamic movement within the vacuum of the white space. The piece is executed in cool blue tones, amplifying the desire for detachment—an escape from the surrounding circumstances or those inherited at birth. It represents the beginning of a journey in search of meaning among people. The blue splashes around the figure evoke the chaotic nature of thoughts, fears, emotions, and social frameworks.
Part of "The Escape" project emerged from a dialogue with my audience on Instagram, where people shared their reflections on the question: "What am I running away from? What fear drives me to flee?". The responses inspired a deep psychoanalysis and contemplation of modern existential fears, leading to an honest dialogue with one's inner anxieties.
The concept of detachment and escape was explored by Heidegger, who viewed fear as a fundamental existential emotion that leads to self-awareness.
This artwork resonates with those interested in the formation of a society that encourages growth rather than escapism, and the various layers of interaction with society. It’s minimalist art that encourages the expansion of personal scale and a conscious approach to life.
