Powerful dreamscape.

This aquatint etching transports you to another land. Calm water in the foreground flows at the base of a mountain rising to the right. Craggy rocks mark the horizon line. A dramatic, rainswept sky sweeps down in the distance. Is it arriving or sweeping away? In the centre of the picture, a glow of light is expanding.

To create this image both acquatint and spit bite processes have been used.

This is a hand made etching and aquatint with each print being inked up and wiped individually. The zinc plate is selectively protected using wax and other substances to 'protect' areas, then dipped in acid over various stages to create holes that 'grip' the ink. The ink is then carefully rubbed over the plate and wiped off selectively, then placed on the 'bed' of an etching press, which is wound to press the soft etching paper onto the inked plate, creating the printed image. Each inking is stlightly different and each print is therefore unique.

A limited edition print of just 25.

The edition is numbered, titled and signed on the front.
