In March 2019, I saw a magnolia for the first time on the Black Sea coast. Among the cloudy weather and gray greenery, the white magnolia seemed to glow. I got a sense of light and hope inside.
In March 2021, I remembered this feeling and drew an animated illustration (you can see it on my personal instagram). And in September, this image appeared on canvas in a different color scheme. I highlighted the flowers with turquoise lilac for a more mystical glow and added gold paint for a magical feel.
For me, this image is about inner Spring. About the feeling of awakening, about your own light and faith in yourself.
