Original artwork description:

A pair of brightly coloured avocets compete for the best feeding and breeding grounds on the shores of a prairie lake in the dead heat of early summer. They jump and run along the stretch of shoreline trying to push one another out of their area. This is a painting from one of my own photographs I took of these amazing looking birds. The bright white along with the bright orange coloring makes them truly spectacular to see.
Being originally from Nova Scotia these shore birds were not ones I seen growing up so they're beauty truly is amazing to me.

Materials used:

140lb Arches cold pressed wc paper mounted to a cradled art board sealed with Dorlands cold wax medium.
