Extended title: “Autumn on the path (Autumn outside and inside me)”

In my pictorial poetics, the path represents the life journey of each of us.
When I walk (or paint) a path, each natural element I encounter evokes a memory, focuses on the present, ignites hopes for the future.
Although the colours of autumn are the most intense, a veil of melancholy inevitably overtakes me when the season arrives. I think back to days gone by and all that I have left behind. While what is in front of me seems to be coming to an end.
This work tries to capture that emotion, not so much an external landscape as a feeling.

This painting was done in the studio in August 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on rough paper, then applied on 100% linen canvas mounted on a fixed fir frame.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected with a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin fir frame, which deliberately shows the knots in the wood to better relate to the natural subject. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"Autumn on the path (Autumn outside and inside me)" is a literal translation of the original Italian title “Autunno sul sentiero (L'Autunno fuori e dentro di me)”.
