A Scottish landscape painting of a tranquil lochan or small loch or lake surrounded by wild heather moorland and distant rugged mountains. Inspired by the wild and remote areas of the highlands of Scotland.
Painted in a contemporary semi abstract impressionist style in bright blue and muted ochre tones.
In this small landscape study I have tried to capture the peace and tranquility of the lonely moorland lochs, whilst fishing for brown trout, as well as the atmosphere of the ever changing weather, with passing showers interspersed with shafts of bright light, which make the moorland glow in autumnal colours.
Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white hand painted wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Canvas on board with acrylic paint and varnish
