This painting is inspired by my walking routes in the area around Poynton. Lyme Park is an estate in Disley, Cheshire, lots of deer run freely and there's beautiful woodland to walk in. The hall itself was used as Pemberley, the home of Mr Darcy, in the 1995 BBC version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
The woodland in the park is stunning and this picture captures the late Autumn afternoon, and vivid autumnal colours.
