Original artwork description:

The painting invites immersion in nature’s elegance bathing in autumn colours. The emphasis lies in the tensions between the warm and cool colours in the forest landscape, its different textures – trees, riverbank, water, leaves – as well as the in the relationship between the foreground and the background. The brushstrokes imitate the movement of the water with the reflection of the trees as the colourful, fallen leaves float towards the viewer. For a painter these phenomena - texture, movement, rhythm - can only become visible by means of close observation, and looking ‘beyond’ the elements in nature, a process embodied in the paintings in which every brushstroke forms a meaningful entity in the emerging whole.
