Autumn is a transition, full of possibility. It's the season I like the most. I struggled with this piece at the beginning of Summer. I came back to it in September. I changed it's orientation and it started to work.
I think this wood is maple and as I started to carve, the movement and form of its seed started to develop. It is so evocative of autumn, the possibility of change and renewal through decay.
