This is part of the Augustus Mausoleum in St. Rémy de Provence, also called Les Antiques. It is next to the Archeological site of Glanum and opposite the monastery of St. Paul de Mausole, where Van Gogh spent a year in 1889.
I found it very amusing that I was so impressed by these ancient roman buildings but not, apparently, Van Gogh! There isn't one known painting of them done by Van Gogh, although he would have seen them every day.
I based this painting on my photos.
