Painted from a meadow in the highlands of the Massif du Mézenc, in the Auvergne mountains, France.
The summer sunlight was slightly veiled by clouds.

This landscape is painted “alla prima” in one single sitting, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.
