Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.
View of the Loire river.

Before being this majestic river bordered by the most beautiful castles of France, near its source the Loire is a river that fights its way through the volcanic mountains forming wild gorges. This is where I live and I like to paint it through the seasons and changing lights.

This landscape is painted “alla prima”, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.

The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows you to hang it without a frame if you wish.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
