The Canopus at the former palaces of the emperor Hadrian is thought to be modeled on an Egyptian original. We visited the romantic complex of ruins in June 2016, imagining we were repeating an 18th century "grand tour" so beloved with the British elites of those days. Acrylic on a 50 x 40 cm canvas, in a white frame (55 x 45 cm).
