One of my favourite places to visit in Sussex belongs to the National Trust - the beautiful Nymans Gardens. Whenever I visit, at whatever time of the year, the gardens are just beautiful and I always come away with my head full of paintings waiting to be painted.

The colour of this beautiful plant grabbed my attention the last time I was there - in September - and I was particularly taken with the way the pinks and reds contrasted with the muted tones of the tree and vegetation behind.

Signed on the front and varnished.
