work that I finished painting in 2013 and is part of the Portraits series.
The subject is a puppy, I found inspiration from a photo found on the internet, I was very impressed with his eyes so much that I cared a lot and I colored with a light tone of brown, everything else is black and white.
the background of the painting has ripples obtained with a special mix of stucco and glue to obtain a material effect that contrasts with the technique that I tried to make very realistic.
I paint with an ancient technique, that of oil painting.
I use the oil color diluting it a lot and then I put it on the painting as it dries, to obtain transparency effects and transform the underlying color to my liking.
To conquer this particular technique and get the results I want, it has taken many years of experiments that are not finished yet.
I take care of my works in all their parts, starting with the construction of the support. I highlight the parts of the painting that I need to express the message I want and leave the other parts incomplete: so you yourself can integrate and finish the work with your imagination.
