Gouache on paper mounted on a foam core board.
Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.
This painting is protected with a sealing wax medium, which is buffed to a luster finish.
The painting is unframed. It will easily fit in a standard (USA) 5"x7" frame. It does not have to be framed under glass, because the surface is protected with the wax medium.
