Original artwork description:

ASIA - Mixed media on wood cm.50x34 with enamel and varnish.
I have always been fascinated by the eyes, the first thing that strikes me in a woman is her gaze. The eyes are the mirror of the soul. Who among you can hold a woman's gaze for long?
I hope you are impressed by these eyes, this magical look. I often paint and photograph women, my research is on the female body, and I don't just dwell on the body, but try to penetrate her soul, to understand her dreams, her fantasies, through her eyes.
In this collection, I intend to tackle the enigma of one's own image, an identity that in many people is equivocal, overshadowed, counterfeit. In fact, the faces portrayed manifest thoughtful expressions, some of them absent, obscure, fascinating, penetrating, involved in the common need to 'be such' and not to 'have to appear'. The search for one's own identity, which leads to true self-knowledge. The awareness that in life everything is semblance.

Materials used:

oil and enamel on wood
