Original artwork description:

In retrospect, I should not have been in the open air creating this plein air painting. Wildfires in my area put my home state in the headlines for the worst air quality in the world that week. But documenting the surreal color palette created by the smoky air was somehow the most normal thing I could do. In spite of the danger I felt, this painting exudes peacefulness with expressive soft brushstrokes and complex greys.
