I was on a drive in northern California when I went through the small town of Adin. At the edge of the town I crossed a bridge over Ash Creek. Of course I had to turn around and go back for pictures. I discovered that this was the local "swimmin' hole". It's reminiscent of a time when the clock ran slower. There's a swing rope that swoops out over the deep spot from a large shade tree, perfect for a hot summer afternoon to cool off. It's a "time-out" for the favorite local spot, to make ready for the joyful return of the locals.
