A collage from magazine papers I have called 'Art Deco Tulips'. I have made a number of collages, the pair 'Art Deco Irises' and 'Art Deco Tulips' can be bought as individual pieces or as a pair to be hung together. They are detailed and intricate, made from small pieces of cut out magazine pictures, the shapes interlock to form the flowers.I draw first and then trace each segment or section of my drawing onto reverse of the part of the magazine paper that I want to use for that section. I look for pattern, texture and colour and try to visualise what each piece will look like when placed together to make the overall flower. The magazine images that I cut up for these two collages were of beautiful coloured glassware and I love the quality this brings to the image, also giving it an Art Deco feel.
