A fragment, a piece of cloth found by the sea, half buried, who knows what it was for and who it belonged to? I was struck by its colors which I subsequently repainted after fixing it in the epoxy resin. A found object, therefore, with its now mysterious history at the service of men, in some way. Just as I found it, between the earth and the sea, straddling two worlds, and for its very colors, it reminded me of the king of the carnival gang, the trickster and great communicator, the wandering Harlequin.
I wanted to restore dignity to this fragment and make it once again the protagonist and artistically usable.
