Ariadne, a prominent symbol of Greek mythology, is represented by JL Lacroix in a symbolic way.
Various parts were necessary to create it: copper, brass, steel, and solid glass (legs), other elements were made by the artist.
Ariadne, daughter of the king of Crete Minos and Pasiphae, daughter of Helios, god of the sun.
What the legend says: "Ariadne is mentioned incidentally in the Iliad, where she is given the epithet kalliplókamos, with beautiful curls, and where she is presented not as a goddess, but as a mortal princess. Seduced by Theseus, she helps him to escape from the Labyrinth. It is the help she gives to Theseus that enables him to win the battle against the Minotaur: in exchange for the promise to marry him, she provides him with a thread that he unwinds behind him to find his way back. But after killing the Minotaur, the hero abandons him on the island of Naxos according to the most common tradition, or on the island of Dia according to Homer."
