Ardnamurchan - Gaelic for "hill of the great sea" - is the most westerly point on the British mainland. This painting was "born" after a visit to Ardnamurchan in the gloaming or twilight when the sky was streaked with hues of blue and purple and the white sands changed to pink and violet.
