This vibrant landscape depicts the gardens of the Casa Del Herrero in Montecito, California where the bubbling sound of a fountain fills the air and refreshes the spirit on a warm summer's evening.

I love the eclectic style of California's Mediterranean gardens. The lushness of plantings paired with the warmth of sun-baked tiles and the coolness of a bubbling fountain are, to my mind, the perfect combination for restoring calm and peace-of-mind.

I entitled this piece "Arden's Day" in honor of my niece, who was born on the day of its completion.
