Inspired by the work of Lyubov Popova. In 1916 Popova became a Suprematist, a term that describes art which rejects painting’s historic devotion to representation, focusing instead on the supremacy of pure artistic feeling. She used planes of colour that avoided right angles in her series, 'Painterly Architectonic', which rendered impressions of forms pulled taut. This current work took the same net of shapes, softened them and blended them into the more nebular form, which is my signature and reinterpretation.
