Archangel Uriel is situated in a mystical garden with birds and flowers. I painted it to escape myself from real world which was not very satisfying at the moment. I hope others can escape too when observing the proud, etheric beauty of Uriel.
Angels may seem atavistic notions in the modern world but we are living in the year of war, our bordering country is an unprecedented war aggressor. Since there is enough suffering on the planet we must embrace any form of irrational, divine, otherworldly appeasement.
The work is painted on 300 g/m² Arches watercolor paper and is not framed.
