Original artwork description:

This little figure looks as though it has just emerged from an ancient archaeological site! She has a strong presence and stands proudly. I made her a little while ago, inspired by ancient female figures from 40,000 years ago in Europe. She is modelled in clay, with manganese oxide for the brown/black marks and a very small amount of yellow ochre and pink slip. She is mounted on a deep wooden base kindly made for her by my husband, so she sits easily on a shelf or sideboard.
