The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte I, and can be found between The Louvre museum and the Tuileries Garden. It sat as a gateway to the Tuileries Palace before the palace was destroyed by a fire (started by communards in 1871).
This original impressionist painting is made on canvas board (canvas attached to board) which gives it a rigidity, and can easily be put into a suitably sized frame. It was painted with professional oil paints, and has been left for a good year before being varnished.
Oil paints (Rembrandt, Old Holland, Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, lefranc & bourgeois)
