Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.

What a beautiful April day to paint! I painted this painting in the surroundings of my studio. The blue of the sky rivals intensity with the green of the meadow. It is the colours of Spring, the rebirth of nature after the long rest of Winter.

This landscape is a plein air painting, painted “alla prima” in one single sitting, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
