Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.
With spring comes the pleasure to paint in the highlands of the Massif du Mézenc (1300m altitude). The meadows withered by the winter slowly starting to turn green.
This landscape is a plein air painting, painted “alla prima” in one single sitting, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
