Original artwork description:

This is the view from my studio in the Auvergne mountains, in the very heart of France. I like studying it at all hours, in all weathers and all seasons. I am particularly lured by the beauty of the subtle and muted colours of the haze rising from the Loire river.
Here I painted a hot air balloon in the morning light. A few times a year, in the morning, I am surprised to discover balloons outside my windows. Le Puy-en-Velay, a town near where I live, is an international gathering place for hot air balloons.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
