This a version in oils of a small pen and ink sketch of the Eastern approaches to St Kilda done shortly after a return visit there some three years ago. The work is informed by a number of local Orkney landscapes painted recently under the umbrella title of "Consideration of a Landscape' and brings out the resemblance to the dips, folds and hollows of a typical Orkney farming landscape...albeit rendered extremely freely.
oil paint on triple primed canvas.
