This oil painting portrays a young couple meeting for a meal but they have decided to have appetizers before choosing from the menu. I am inspired by the dress code for men in the 1940/50's so decided to give the man a hat & braces with a loosened tie giving him a very casual look. Whilst the woman is glancing towards the menu eating from a bowl of snacks, he is looking at her with an admiring glance.
