This drawing is an original colored pencil drawing titled “Apologetic”. It is a homemade colored pencil drawing that has an illustrative vibrant realistic style depicting lilies in a vase outside on a table on a summer day. This colored pencil drawing was created after my husband gave them to me after an argument as a form of an apology. I really love lilies and wanted to capture them in a photograph to draw right away. The vibrancy of color in this photograph and the view of the lilies in the vase on the table had pulled me in and grabbed my attention demanding I draw it. I like to use very vibrant colors in my art. My drawings and paintings take me many hours from start to finish to execute the level of detail and show the delicate textures in my work. Here, I use waxed based colored pencils on a grey toned Strathmore mixed media paper.
