Contemporary take on Greek Mythology tales. Aphrodite's rescuer is a contemporary take on Greek mythological tales. Many legends inspired this painting.
In the drawing we see Pan, God of the wild and sexuality, he is half man and half goat depicted with horns and hindquarters. He is desperately seeking Aphrodite, stalking her furiously to the point of insanity to penetrate her and taste her sacred life force. Aphrodite the Goddess of love and beauty she bathes calming in her lagoon, not yet aware of the beast Pan. Hercules the divine hero is wise to Pans plan and has been waiting for his attack, he leaps out to safeguard Aphrodite.
