If, like me, you spend any time at all scanning art related posts on social media you will encounter artists using hairbrushes, toothbrushes, electric toothbrushes, floorbrushes, sponges, pan scrubbers, clingfilm, tinfoil, rags, leaves, steel wool, branches, flowers, marbles, footballs, bicycles, hoops, gravity, pendulums, rollers, aerosols, spray cans, string, masking tape, bubblewrap, fingers, hands, feet, breasts, dogs, cats, windscreen scrapers, rulers, wood, foamboard, cups, saucers, forks, garlic crushers, electric fans, hairdryers and, occasionally, paintbrushes, to transfer paint onto a bit of canvas/paper in an effort to make it look interesting.
