This sculpture belonging to the anthropoid series takes an abstract approach to the human body. The aim is to achieve maximum expressiveness with the minimum aesthetic and material resources.
From a 3mm steel plate emerge the two pieces that through orthogonal overlap create the sensation of volume. Body and legs are represented in a linear way, using the circle and the horizontal lines that wound the steel to suggest the torso of the figure.
The work with a flat steel plate, blued in black, is based on the contemporary sculptural tradition inspired by authors such as Gargallo, Gonzalez and Oteiza.
With this work the author intends to make the phrase less is more his own. looking for all the expressiveness and drama of the human body, reducing it to a minimum, while still being recognizable.
