Another Time, Another Place
Oil paint on canvas

Superimposed photographs have been re-interpreted as a painting – part fact/part fiction. The colours have been rendered in dark tones and the marks left visible, applied with a palette knife, adding to the mystery of the piece and bearing little resemblance to the original shot other than the ‘pose’. Her identity is left unknown; we can only speculate on what she is looking at or thinking. This painting is an exploration of mood and gesture through colour and paint application and not intended as a traditional portrait.
