I have been inspired by artists of the Pre-Raphaelites, such as Rossetti and John William Waterhouse, John Millais who used the palette of contrast and contradiction with exhaustive detail. They worked with subjects taken from poetry and medieval legend.
By this picture, I use symbolic interpretation of the gracefulness and beauty of the female with her mystery and emotional depth and wisdom of the Pre-Raphaelite era.
It is my contemporary touch using oil painting, fabric, gold leaf and other materials.
Original Art work on stretched canvas approx. 40 x 50 cm, or 16"x20"
oil and mixed media
