This has to be one of the most adorable looking animals I have had the opportunity to meet as a Wildlife Photographer. The soft rolls of blubber, the great big black eyes and the expression, almost human, could not fail to make you fall in love with these gentle Sea Mammals. This photograph was taken during a boat trip off the coast of the Isle of Mull, Scotland, UK. The predominantly white coat shows this to be one this year's Pups. The soft layers of fat are laid down from a diet of the mothers' milk which is 60% fat and they grow at a rate of over 2 KG a day.
This handsome youngster is "sunbathing" on a small rock island, with the Sea and the reddish Granite rocks of another island make the backdrop
