This picture is based on a photo by Oleksiy Kyrychenko, which he took in late February this year, in the first days of russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Two weeks ago we woke up to the sounds of bombing. I thought it was a dream. But it turned out to be true. We have been living in this terrible dream ever since.
I am happy that my house is still intact and that my studio with my paintings also, and that I can still paint. Even during the sound of sirens of air alarm. And that's why I will paint. It brings me back to life.
