Original artwork description:

Inspired by the “Greats” : Raphaël, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Botticelli, Pamela has revisited these classical poses, painting compositions and facial traits to created this series dedicated to angels.
This piece has been painted onto cardboard, a surface that brings the painting to life and also will keep the original colours for years as it captures them into it’s surface. Cardboard is very easy to frame ; just staple it to the back of the wood.

This is Angel 2. As it’s title suggests it’s the second one of the series that will be composed of 13 in total painted over a period of two years (2020/2021)
You can recognise Pamela’s style with her use of acrylic paint, spray paint, stencils and acrylic pens that she applies to the canvas leaving glimpses of what went down before.
The past bought into the present day and the future hanging on someone’s wall…
The white angel face is also a reference to the great Bernard Buffet whose work is exhibited in one of her favourite French galleries, La Gallery Estades.

Materials used:

cardboard, acrylic paint, spray paint, stencils
