Inspired by the “Greats” : Leonardo, Michael Angelo, Botticelli, I have revisited these classical poses, painting compositions and facial traits to created this series dedicated to angels.
This is Angel 1. As it’s title suggests it’s the first one of the series that will be composed of 13 in total painted over a period of two years (2020/2021)
You can recognise my distinctive style with my use of acrylic paint, spray paint, stencils and acrylic pens that I applies to the canvas leaving glimpses of what went down before. Very loose, gestural to give this angel a modern twist; the past bought into the present day and for future hanging on someone’s wall…
