Based on a digital drawing of a photo that the artist took in the Cactus House of the Berlin Botanical Gardens.
Converting first to digital helps push colour and vibrancy in a different way compared to the original photo or a paper/canvas sketch. The semi-abstract nature of this work shows his deep work into abstract research, combined with detailed figurative body/plants studies. Bright colours are favoured in this as a reflection of the artists’s personal relationship with colour.
