Overcast day in The Lake District. Mid summer, but the weather is heavy with the occasional uplifting burst of sunshine creating that wonderful drama in the landscape. Paul is a frequent visitor the the lakes and mountains of Cumbria. Having lived there till he was 18, any visit isn't complete without a ramble on the peaks. Mainly with sketchbook.

And Gable Beyond pays homage to the view up Wastwater with the mountains blanketed by low cloud with the Gables nestled in the midst of it. Impasto layers of texture gel and acrylic is worked over with Oilpaints. Painting on triple gesso hardboard.
