This painting was inspired "by a photo in a daily newspaper, and showed this magnificent old oak tree in a place called Wistmans Wood" perched 1,200ft up on Dartmoor in Devon. It is a rare fragment of the ancient forest which is thought to be 9000 years old, the wood is made up of gnarled , stunted oaks, growing between moss covered granite boulders, and provides shelter for all sorts of wild life.
This is a large sturdy canvas and measures 31.5 x 23.5 x .75 inches, sides are painted. it is unframed, and ready to hang, or can easily be framed to suit your personal taste.
