This is the third work in a new series of work which is called 'Ancient Faces.' This particular piece is based on the art and design of the Viking civilization. The Vikings in my work do not have the iconic horned helmets because this was actually a misconception of the Vikings perpetrated by the Christian monks who wanted to 'demonise' the Vikings for their raids on villages and monastic sites. If the Vikings added any attachments to their helmets, it would have been the wings depicted on their Valkyries.
Many hours of love went into this piece and it is a rather large ink drawing at approx 45x61cm or 18x24" unframed, and with frame is approx 61x76cm or 24x30".
The entire piece was drawn with technical drawing ink pens in various sizes on smooth, hotpressed watercolour paper.
It will be posted in a cardboard box. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
