Original artwork description:

The Three Graces, Aglaia, Thalia, and Euphrosyne, come together in a magical dreamworld to inspire joy. They bring you Japanese candy, Magnolia cupcakes and crystalized lavender doughnuts. The Jabberwock has invited the three girls with candy-floss hair to come and play. Aglaia, goddess of beauty, splendor and glory, with blue hair offers you cupcakes. Euphrosyne, goddess of merriment and joy, with bunnies and deer cookies in her hair, looks on you inquisitively with good cheer. Thalia, goddess of abundance, with peppermint white hair, hopes to surprise the Jabberwock with enough treats to feed everyone at the banquet. In a time when they are most needed, the Graces are with us to bring joy and mirth.

My interpretation of the Three Graces is inspired by Medieval altar paintings, and the way they directly address the viewer and communicate identities using symbols. On a more personal level, they stem from collages I created out of magazines as a teenager, and I tried to bring that youthful enthusiasm to this painting.
